MOTION CAPTURE, VIRTUAL PRODUCTION, POSTVIS

Captured actor Ben Palacios (Lyle) throughout the 16 week production, on location in New York City and at Shadowbox Studios in Atlanta GA. Actor Capture provided body capture with Xsens from the stage to hanging out of cars in Manhattan. Virtual Production with in-camera VFX to visualize a 3D dancing crocodile in a real-time camera overlay of Lyle. Directors, VFX crew could see the virtual performance as it happens.

cHARACTER CREATION AND MOTION CAPTURE

Collaborated with Crafty Apes to create a wide variety of digital human characters and motion capture for the boxing arena crowd VFX scenes. 3D characters were based from a photo shoot with actors and digital doubles were generated and animated from references.

Episode 7 was filmed December 2020 in Pacoima, CA near Burbank on the XRStage. The team from Actor Capture worked with Jesse Collins Productions, Director Brenden Carter and Facebook’s production team to plan the shoot, find the location at XR Stage and develop the experience of the characters, mocap, and  game levels from start to finish. Actor Capture utilized Xsens, iPhone, Character Creator, iClone with Unreal Engine to bring everything together for the two games.

Visualizing the massive stunts planned for The Suicide Squad was achieved along with Proxi Studios to capture 20 action scenes, develop 3d characters for each action hero and bring those scenes to life as stuntvis for James Gunn and the VFX Supervisor. Previz and Stuntviz powered by Actor Capture with body motion and facial capture. Scenes visualized and rendered in Unreal Engine.

Filmed in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Actor Capture provided previz for the sci-fi film that included AR motion graphics, 3D character creation, motion capture, and postvis.
